Back in (June? July?) Jennah and I headed up to Eklutna for the weekend for a little SUP action. The lake itself is a bit notorious for wind, but we lucked out and had a fairly calm paddle. We agreed that Eklutna Lake is an excellent stand-up-paddle touring option that's close enough to Anchorage, but also feels like you're getting off the grid a little bit. Plus no shortage of hiking and mountain biking. Next time we're hoping to paddle out/hike to one of the public use campgrounds out there. Gorgeous spot!
